Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)

Swachh Bharat Mission or Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA) or Clean India Mission is a country-wide programme started in 2014 by Government of India. It emphasizes on eliminating open defecation and improve solid waste management in urban and rural areas in India. The objectives of the mission also included eradication of manual scavenging, generating awareness and bringing about behaviour change regarding sanitation practices, and augmentation of capacity at the local level. The mission aimed at progressing towards target 6.2 of the Sustainable Development Goals Number 6 established by the United Nations in 2015.

Our team at Third Planet Foundation focusses on developing and implementing innovative interventions related to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. We believe and promote; the change can only be sustainable through acceptance, participation and ownership among the communities.

Our projects interventions include Safe Waste Disposal, Set-up Household, Community and Schools Toilets, Promotion of Best Sanitation and Hygiene Practices, Awareness, Behavioural Change and IEC dissemination. Align to the guidelines of Ministry of Jal Shakti, we focus on Water Conservation, Rain Water Harvesting, and Access to Safe Drinking Water through Community Water ATMs, School RO units among others.
